What is Tale

Tale is an open-source project workspace where teams and configured AI agents share tasks, context and files. Plan projects, give people or agents scoped tasks, and review the resulting deliverables together. Agents can work in persistent sandbox workspaces with supported runtimes and models. Assignment alone does not start execution: the deployment needs configured tools and an authorized trigger.

The MIT-licensed Community edition is free to self-host. Infrastructure and model/provider usage can cost money; optional Enterprise support and services are paid. An operator needs to deploy, maintain and configure the workspace.
