What is 1Password for Agents
1Password for Agents lets supported personal AI agents sign in to your accounts without ever seeing your passwords. When an agent encounters a login, it requests credentials from 1Password; you approve or deny the request on your own device, and 1Password fills the password or one-time code directly. Connecting an agent does not expose your entire vault. The feature is included in Individual and Family plans, with Meta Muse and Grok Bot rolling out and a waitlist available.
Key Features
Use Cases
- Approving AI agent logins to personal accounts while keeping credentials hidden
- Managing which agents can request sign-in access
- Using one-time codes for agent-authenticated sessions without sharing them
Why do startups need this tool?
As AI agents take on more everyday tasks, startups and small teams need a way to let agents authenticate safely. 1Password for Agents provides a credential broker model where the user keeps final approval and the agent never sees secrets, making it easier to adopt agentic workflows without compromising account security.
